The charity’s achievements have been significant and recognised throughout the world. This is due, in particular, to the leading role the CORDA Magnetic Resonance Unit has played in the research and understanding of the nature of heart disease and the detection of its early onset.
This work has been based at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and particular acknowledgement is made to RBH and the staff of the Unit who have dedicated their lives to the cause.
The ultimate recognition of the charity’s work came when her Royal Highness, Princess Alexandra agreed to become its Royal Patron in 2005.
“I believe the work of this charity is key to the better understanding of the biggest killer in our society, namely, cardiovascular disease and in its ultimate prevention.
I am pleased to have been invited to become CORDA’s Royal Patron and look forward to continuing to help the charity achieve its important goals in the future.”
